Adigai is a South Indian family recipe app created by the Laxmanan family. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
- Name: Entered voluntarily during onboarding. Used only to personalise your in-app experience. Not transmitted to any server.
- Device ID: A stable identifier unique to your device. Used to assign your personalised recipe selection and apply usage limits. Not linked to your identity.
- App configuration: On each launch, the app connects to our secure backend to fetch runtime configuration. This request includes your device ID and app version. No personal information is transmitted. The response is cached encrypted on your device.
- Usage data: Feedback ratings (thumbs up/down) on recipes. Stored locally on your device only.
- Analytics: Anonymised usage events (e.g. features used, screens visited) collected via PostHog to help us improve the app. No personal information is included.
- AI queries: Text you type in Ask Mom, AI Fusion, and Meal Planner generation is sent to our secure backend and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude AI. Not stored beyond the duration of your request.
- Voice requests: Recipe notes and Ask Mom responses converted to audio via ElevenLabs. Text is forwarded for processing only. Not stored beyond the duration of your request.
- Purchase data: If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed by Apple. We do not store your payment details. Purchase history is managed by RevenueCat to validate your subscription or session status.
How We Use Your Information
- To personalise your recipe experience with your name
- To assign your personalised free recipe selection
- To apply fair usage limits on AI features
- To fetch and apply the latest app configuration securely at launch
- To generate AI responses via Claude (Anthropic)
- To generate voice audio via ElevenLabs
- To understand how the app is used and improve it over time (PostHog)
- To manage in-app purchases and subscriptions (RevenueCat)
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your data to any third party
- We do not collect your email address, phone number or location
- We do not store your AI conversations beyond the immediate request
- We do not use your data for advertising
- We do not share your device ID with any third party beyond those listed below
Third Party Services
Adigai uses the following services to power its features:
Data Storage
Your name, skill level, household size, favourite recipes, saved meal plans, feedback and device ID are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data is not transmitted to any server and is deleted if you uninstall the app.
App configuration fetched at launch is cached locally using encrypted storage (SecureStore). This cache ensures the app functions correctly if network access is unavailable at next launch.
Children's Privacy
Adigai is a family cooking app suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or any personally identifying information to use.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
